How to check 4D results without getting fooled
To check 4D results in Malaysia safely, go straight to the source: the official operator websites and apps for Magnum 4D, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai, or the outlet where you bought the ticket. Results are drawn on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at about 7:00 pm Malaysia time, with special draws on some Tuesdays, while daily operators such as GD Lotto and 9 Lotto publish their numbers in the evening. Anything posted on a random "result" page, Telegram group or prediction blog should be treated as unverified until it matches the official source.
Where to check official 4D results
Each licensed operator publishes its own draw results, and these are the only numbers that matter when you are checking a ticket:
- Magnum 4D — magnum4d.my, plus the official app and printed results at Magnum outlets. Magnum Corporation has been running 4D since 1969.
- Sports Toto — sporttoto.com.my, under the Berjaya group, with results also displayed at Toto outlets.
- Da Ma Cai — damacai.com.my. Da Ma Cai is operated by Pan Malaysian Pools, with profits channelled to the Tun Razak Foundation.
- Regional and daily operators — GD Lotto (Grand Dragon), 9 Lotto, Sabah 88, Sandakan STC and Cash Sweep in Sarawak each publish their own results, usually on their official sites.
If you bought online through an international platform, the platform will show the result, but it should still match the official operator's published numbers for that draw. If it does not, ask before you accept the outcome.
Draw days and times in Malaysia (MYT)
Timing matters because fake sites often post "results" before the draw has even happened. Use this as your reference:
| Operator | Draw days | Result time (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Magnum 4D | Wed, Sat, Sun (+ some Tue special draws) | About 7:00 pm |
| Sports Toto | Wed, Sat, Sun (+ some Tue special draws) | About 7:00 pm |
| Da Ma Cai | Wed, Sat, Sun (+ some Tue special draws) | About 7:00 pm |
| GD Lotto | Every day | Around 7:30 pm |
| 9 Lotto | Every day | Around 7:00–7:30 pm |
Special Tuesday draws are announced in advance, so check the operator's notice before assuming a Tuesday has no draw. A full breakdown is on our draw schedule page.
How to read your result slip properly
Most confusion comes from not knowing which prize category your ticket falls into. A Big bet covers 23 winning numbers: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 10 special and 10 consolation. A Small bet covers only 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but pays more. Typical prizes per RM1 for Big bets are RM2,500 (1st), RM1,000 (2nd), RM500 (3rd), RM180 (special) and RM60 (consolation); Small bets pay RM3,500, RM2,000 and RM1,000 for the top three places.
If you played iBox or Box, your number covers all its permutations, and the prize is divided by the number of permutations — 24, 12, 6 or 4 depending on how many digits repeat. A Roll (R) entry replaces one digit with all 10 options for RM10. Magnum also offers Mbox. Check the bet type printed on your ticket before you compare it against the results, and see how to play if you are unsure what your slip means.
Practical tip: Screenshot or photograph your ticket and note the draw date and operator before the draw. If a result site shows numbers that do not match the official operator page, trust the operator — and never pay anyone who claims they can "confirm" or "unlock" your prize for a fee.
Red flags: fake result sites and prediction sellers
Search for "4D result" and you will find pages that look official but are not. Common signs: results posted before 7:00 pm MYT, no operator branding or licence details, pop-ups pushing a "sure number", and requests for payment or personal details to "verify" a win. No method predicts a draw — the odds of a specific 4-digit number taking 1st prize are 1 in 10,000, and about 23 in 10,000 for any of the 23 Big prizes. Anyone selling predictions is selling nothing. Our common mistakes page covers more of these traps.
Checking, then claiming
Once you have confirmed your number on the official source, small prizes of up to a few hundred ringgit can usually be claimed at any outlet. Larger amounts are handled at the operator's regional or head office, where you will need your IC and the original ticket. Tickets are valid for 6 months from the draw date, so do not sit on a winner. Malaysian lottery winnings are not subject to personal income tax, and licensed operators require players to be 21 or older (non-Muslims only, by law). Full steps are on our claiming guide, and prize tiers are listed under prizes.
Play responsibly, set a budget you can afford to lose, and treat 4D as entertainment rather than income.
Frequently asked questions
What time are 4D results out in Malaysia?
Magnum 4D, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai draw on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at about 7:00 pm MYT, with results published shortly after. GD Lotto releases results around 7:30 pm and 9 Lotto around 7:00–7:30 pm, every day. Special Tuesday draws are announced in advance.
Which website should I trust for 4D results?
Only the official operator sources: magnum4d.my, sporttoto.com.my and damacai.com.my, plus their apps and outlet displays. For GD Lotto, 9 Lotto, Sabah 88, Sandakan STC and Cash Sweep, use the operator's own official page. Third-party result sites are convenient but should always be cross-checked.
Can I check results if I bought my ticket online?
Yes. Licensed Malaysian operators sell through physical outlets only, so online 4D is offered by international platforms using local payment methods such as FPX, DuitNow, Touch 'n Go, bank transfer or crypto. The platform shows your result, but it should match the official operator's published numbers for that draw.
How long do I have to claim a winning 4D ticket?
Tickets are valid for 6 months from the draw date. Small prizes can be claimed at any outlet, while larger prizes are paid at the operator's regional or head office with your IC and the original ticket. Malaysian lottery winnings are not taxed as personal income.
