4D draw schedule by operator
The 4D draw schedule in Malaysia is straightforward once you know which operator you are playing: Magnum 4D, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai all draw on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at about 7:00 pm Malaysia time, with extra special draws on selected Tuesdays announced in advance, while regional operators such as GD Lotto and 9 Lotto run daily draws with results out in the evening. This page sets out the draw days and result times for every operator, plus what happens to the schedule on public holidays.
Regular draw days for the big three operators
Magnum 4D, Sports Toto and Da Ma Cai follow the same core pattern. Draws take place three times a week — Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday — and the draw itself is normally conducted at around 7:00 pm MYT. Results are published shortly after, usually within 15 to 30 minutes, on the operator's official site and app, and printed at outlets.
Because all three share the same days, most players in Peninsular Malaysia simply pick the operator they prefer or the one with an outlet near them. The game format is identical: choose a 4-digit number from 0000 to 9999, with a minimum bet of RM1. If you are new to the format, our how to play guide walks through Big and Small bets, iBox and Roll.
| Operator | Regular draw days | Draw / result time (MYT) |

| Magnum 4D | Wed, Sat, Sun | About 7:00 pm |
| Sports Toto | Wed, Sat, Sun | About 7:00 pm |
| Da Ma Cai | Wed, Sat, Sun | About 7:00 pm |
| GD Lotto (Grand Dragon) | Daily | Around 7:30 pm |
| 9 Lotto | Daily | Around 7:00–7:30 pm |
| Sabah 88 / Sandakan STC / Cash Sweep | Varies by state operator | Evening draws |
Special Tuesday draws
On top of the usual three draws, the main operators run special draws on some Tuesdays. These are not weekly — they are announced in advance by each operator, often tied to festive periods, anniversaries or jackpot events. When a special draw falls on a Tuesday, the result time is the same as a normal draw evening, roughly 7:00 pm MYT.
If you only play occasionally, it is worth checking the operator's official announcement before assuming a Tuesday draw is on. Special draws are also a common time for higher jackpot amounts, which is why ticket sales at outlets tend to be busier on those days.
Daily draw operators: GD Lotto and 9 Lotto
GD Lotto (Grand Dragon) and 9 Lotto operate on a different rhythm — they draw every day of the week, including public holidays. GD Lotto results are typically published around 7:30 pm MYT, while 9 Lotto results usually appear between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm MYT. Because these are daily games, the number of draws per year is far higher than the Wednesday–Saturday–Sunday operators, and prize structures are set accordingly.
These brands are widely played online rather than through physical outlets in Malaysia. If you want the background on each, see our pages on GD Lotto and 9 Lotto.
Public holidays and schedule changes
Draws are generally not cancelled on public holidays. In fact, festive periods often bring additional special draws rather than fewer. The main thing that changes is outlet opening hours: some outlets close early or open late on the first day of a major public holiday, so buying a ticket in person can be harder than usual.
Result publication can also be slightly delayed on busy draw nights. If a result has not appeared within an hour of the usual time, check the operator's official channel rather than a third-party site. Our result checking page explains which sources are reliable and how to verify a ticket.
Practical tip: Buy your ticket before the cut-off, not at 6:55 pm. Outlets stop accepting bets a short time before the draw so tickets can be registered, and a ticket printed after the cut-off goes into the next draw — not the one you were watching.
What the schedule means for prize claims
Every ticket is tied to a specific draw date, and that date drives the claim window. Tickets remain valid for six months from the draw date. Smaller prizes — up to a few hundred ringgit — can be claimed at any outlet, while larger amounts must be handled at the operator's regional or head office with your IC and the original ticket. Malaysian lottery winnings are not subject to personal income tax. Full steps are in our claim guide, and the payout tiers per RM1 are listed on our prizes page.
One reminder that applies to every draw day: licensed operators sell only to non-Muslims aged 21 and above, and 4D is a game of chance. Play within a budget you are comfortable losing, and treat it as entertainment rather than income.
